We don’t believe in year round running for youth athletes. Specialization is the death of athleticism. Kids should be multi-sport athletes up till high school.
We are starting a youth program due to the predatory nature of year long clubs that produce very little besides burn out.
We are more than willing to offer gentle guidance during off-seasons to help maintain fitness, but we will not abandon our principles.
-
We often include optional check-ins, next steps, or community resources to help you keep the momentum going.
-
Our core age focus. Our youth programs were set up to offer an affordable options for athletes where our focus is strictly on fundamentals to set you up for your high school athletic career.
If you are already part of a motivated public school option - it is our belief that you should stay within that program.
We are looking to assist youth who are in situations where seeking guidance elsewhere is not a want but necessary.
-
The earliest age offered are to those headed into their 6th grade year.
-
We would like to send Timberline Youth teams to Junior Olympic XC Nationals - but you must be given the green light from your high school coach.
We are not looking to coach high school athletes. This program has the unique focus of developing athletes to go make your high school programs better.
We would love to high school level teams to JO meets but we believe that once you are in high school, that is now your running existence.
No practices. No guidance. We would simply like to field teams starting with previous athletes and help subsidize a fun experience for high school aged youth.
